8-Week Challenge · Sherman, Texas
For people starting from zero, or starting over. Every course starts with a 1-on-1 fitness assessment — details below.
See what it covers ↓A thousand workouts online, a hundred diets, and no idea which one is for a person who has never really trained. So you do nothing, again.
Nobody has ever taught you how to squat or lift, and the fear of hurting yourself or looking lost keeps you on the couch.
The last thing you want is to walk into a room full of experienced athletes on day one and feel like you do not belong.
We hear this from almost every new member who walks through our doors. That is exactly why we built the 8-Week Challenge: the coaching attention of personal training, the energy of a group class, and a plan that meets you where you are. Here’s how it works at Solus.
Part personal training, part group fitness. You learn the movements one on one, build the habit in coached classes, and add nutrition once training already feels normal. Built for complete beginners — 25 or 65, brand new or coming back after years away.

Weeks 1–2
One on one with your coach: the fundamental movements, your goals, and your starting numbers.

Weeks 3–8
A meal plan, a body fat test, and macro targets built around what you actually eat — plus a weekly check-in with your coach.

Weeks 1–8
Every coached class on the board, up to 60 sessions — CrossFit and Pilates both. Scaled to your level, alongside experienced members.
One thing at a time. You learn to move first; food comes later, once training is already a habit. Changing everything at once is how people quit in week two.
Four private sessions with your coach. Goals, a body fat test, your starting numbers, and the movements taught properly. Classes are open to you from day one.
Nutrition coaching starts. Macros, a meal plan built around what you actually eat, and a weekly check-in. Not week one, on purpose.
Every class on the board, all eight weeks. Scaled to you, coach on the floor. This is the part that becomes your normal week.
In week eight you repeat the baseline workout from your assessment, so the change is a number and not a feeling.

Most people who try CrossFit for the first time are surprised by how welcoming it is. Our coaches scale every movement to your current level, so a first-timer and a ten-year member do the same workout side by side, each at their own version. Nobody gets thrown in the deep end.
Spend an hour, one-on-one with a Solus coach. We’ll screen how you move, get an honest read on your current fitness, and build you a personalized plan for where to start: classes, personal training, or both. The assessment is $60.
The Assessment
Wear something you can move in and bring water.
You’ll leave knowing where you stand and exactly what your next step is. No guessing, no throwing you into the deep end, and no obligation to sign up for anything.
If we’re not the right fit, you’ll walk out with an at-home plan built for where you are right now — so either way, you leave moving forward.
Pick a time. An hour with a coach: your goals, a movement screen, and your baseline workout.
Your first one-on-one: a body fat test, your nutrition targets, and the first movements taught properly.
Eight weeks of sessions, classes, and weekly check-ins. Show up; the plan handles the rest.

“I am new to working out and was very nervous to start. Every single person here has been welcoming and encouraging. There is absolutely no judgment on where you are fitness wise. I love this gym and highly recommend to everyone, no matter your fitness level”

“I started working out at Solus on December 1, 2021 after not working out in about 6 months and I have never felt better. The staff there is amazing and are so encouraging. I was little embarrassed when I first started bc I couldn’t do most of the work outs but they have motivated me and encouraged me every single day I show up to a work out!!! If you are looking for a positive place to work out where no one judges you and motivate you not give up this is the place!!!”

The workouts are challenging and with so many different ways to scale them, anyone can do it!!! My hour long workout has easily become the highlight of my day. So so incredibly thankful for the team at CrossFit Solus!”

No — getting in shape is the point. The course is built for complete beginners and for people coming back after years away. Your first sessions are one on one, and every class after that is scaled to you.
Weeks one and two: your four one-on-one sessions, learning the movements and setting your starting numbers. Weeks three to eight: nutrition coaching. Classes are open to you the whole time. Food comes second on purpose — changing training and diet in the same week is how most people quit.
Four one-on-one sessions in weeks one and two, unlimited coached classes for all eight weeks (up to 60), a meal plan with a body fat test and macro targets, six weeks of nutrition coaching from week three, and a weekly check-in with your coach.
Yes, and it is short. About ten minutes with your coach beside you: rowing, ski and bike, and light dumbbell work, all scaled to what you can do that day. You can stop at any point. You repeat the same workout in week eight, so your progress is a number rather than a feeling. Wear something you can move in and bring water.
Personal training is one on one every session. The beginner course starts one on one, then moves you into classes with your coach still checking in weekly — individual attention while you learn, the group as you build the habit. If you want one on one throughout, see our personal training options.
Sixty minutes: warm-up, strength or skill work, the workout of the day, cool down. You do the same workout as everyone else, scaled to you — a lighter weight, a box to squat to, a bike instead of a run. You’ve already learned the movements one on one, so nothing is a surprise.
Yes — it is one of the main reasons the course exists. Tell your coach what you are working around and every movement gets adjusted. We coach members in their 20s and their 60s, people with knee replacements, people who have not trained in twenty years.
Book a 1-on-1 fitness assessment and a coach will walk you through the 8-Week Challenge and send you the pricing the same day. You can also ask about membership pricing for after the course.
By week eight you can walk into any class and know what to do. Most members move straight into a regular membership, which includes unlimited CrossFit and Pilates classes. Your coach will map out the next step with you before the course ends.
